Interested in joining the Nachappa Lab?
While funding for graduate students and post-docs are limited, we are always looking for self-motivated, driven, independent people to join our lab.
Teaching assistantships are available on a competitive basis through the Department of Agricultural Biology Graduate Program. Research assistantships will be available as and when grant funding comes in and we will advertise for the position here. Other possibilities include applying for fellowships such as NSF Graduate Fellowship. If you are interested in graduate research opportunities in my lab or would like more information, please send me an email.
Post-doctoral candidates may consider applying for NIFA Postdoctoral Fellowships and NSF Postdoctoral Fellowship in Biology.
We are strong supporters of undergraduate education, and we believe that academic education for undergraduates should be complemented with research experiences. Undergraduate students can develop their own independent projects under my supervision or one of the lab members. I encourage undergraduates to enroll in research credits (e.g. BSPM 495), so that credits earned can be used toward graduation as general elective credits. There are undergraduate scholarships available to assist students such as the Ag Biology Undergraduate Research Fellowship. If you are interested in undergraduate research opportunities in my lab or would like to know more, please feel free to send me an email or stop by my office in C201 Plant Sciences.
